In this article, we will show you how to create, configure, and connect your Kraken Pro API key to the Bitsgap platform.
Bitsgap is a trading platform that allows you to work with numerous cryptocurrency exchanges from a unified interface with access to additional tools that are not available on the exchange.
All trading operations are created and processed by using an exchange API key which is unique for every user. An API key is a safe and reliable way to use a platform because it does not give access to your personal data and prevents any funds management (withdrawals & deposits).
1. Log in to Kraken Pro
Log in to your Kraken Pro account or create a new one.
2. Go to the API page
From your account section (top-right corner), navigate to the Security tab, then head to the API page.
3. Create your first API key
On the API management page, please click [Add key].
4. Go to Bitsgap > My Exchanges page
Log in to your Bitsgap account, go to the My Exchanges page, and click the [Add new exchange] button to continue.
5. Select Kraken Pro from the list and copy Bitsgap IP addresses
Copy each of the trusted IP addresses (by clicking the "Copy" icon next to them) and save them somewhere for now. You will need these IPs later when setting up API permissions.
6. Match API key permissions
Edit your permissions as in the example below. These permissions will allow Bitsgap to read your history and current balance and process trades on your exchange account.
Here is the list of required permissions:
Query on
Deposit off
Withdrawal off
Query Open Orders & Trades on
Query Closed Orders & Trades on
Create and Modify Orders on
Cancel/Close Orders on
Query Ledger Entries on
Export Data off
Access WebSockets API on
IP address restriction on (insert the IPs copied from the My exchanges tab)
Key Expiration off
Query Start Date off
Query End Date off
⛔ Attention
Each Bitsgap IP should be added individually and separated by a comma from the next address.
When you are ready, click [Generate Key].
7. Copy your API key and Private key
Your Kraken Pro trading key is ready to be connected to our platform! Please copy your API and Private keys somewhere safe.
8. Go back to Bitsgap > My Exchanges
Now let’s add the Private and API keys. In the pop-up window, do the following:
Choose the Kraken Pro exchange.
Paste your API key.
Paste your Private key.
Click [Connect].
9. Connection check
If everything is done correctly, you will see Kraken Pro added to the list of your exchanges with the Connected status and the trading balance available on your account.
