What do you get by connecting your exchange account to Bitsgap
With Bitsgap you will have access to the all-in-one trading platform where you can connect all your cryptocurrency exchange accounts under one unified interface. You will be able to do exactly what you would do on your regular exchange account but with some really cool trading tools!
How do you connect your exchange account and what is API key?
Every exchange has an option to create a unique API key for an account. This API key will allow us to communicate with your exchange account and process your trading from the Bitsgap interface.
Consider it as your username and password but limited to check your balance and execute your trading decisions. By using the API key you will not give any information about yourself nor any access to change your account settings or perform withdrawals. Everything will be limited based on your API settings.
1. Log in to Coinbase Pro
Log in to your Coinbase Pro account or create a new one.
2. Go to API page
From your account settings (top-right corner) navigate to API page.
3. Create new API key
On the API settings tab, click [NEW API KEY] to proceed.
4. Match API key permissions
Edit your permissions as in the example below. These permissions will allow us to read your history, current balance and execute trades on your exchange account. You can use any Profile name, it is just for you to identify where the API key is used.
When you are ready click [CREATE API KEY]
Here is the list of required permissions:
- View on
- Transfer off
- Trade on
- Passphrase use any (we will need it to connect your Bitsgap account with Coinbase Pro, please copy it somewhere safe)
- *IP Whitelist leave blank
*To run Bitsgap service our platform using numerous IP addresses which cannot be whitelisted. Please do not use your home IP because it will restrict our platform to send any requests from your Bitsgap account to your Coinbase Pro account.
5. Copy your API Key, API Secret, and Passphrase.
As soon as you create new Coinbase Pro API key you will receive a window where the Secret key can be copied. Please store it somewhere safe for now. When you are ready, feel free to close this window.
To find your API key, please go back to API Settings and check your recently created key. You will need to copy it somewhere safe as well.
And the last, the passphrase. You have already created it from the permissions window and we asked you to store it somewhere else. I hope you did have a chance to did it, otherwise we would need to start over.
