How to create and set up Crypto.com API key
Updated over a week ago

In this article, we will show you how to create, configure, and connect your Crypto.com API key to the Bitsgap platform.

Bitsgap is a trading platform that allows you to work with numerous cryptocurrency exchanges from a unified interface with access to additional tools unavailable on the exchange.

All trading operations are created and processed by using an exchange API key which is unique for every user. An API key is a safe and reliable way to use a platform because it does not give access to your personal data and prevents any funds management (withdrawals & deposits).

1. Log in to Crypto.com

Log in to your Crypto.com account or create a new one.

2. Go to the API page

From your account, navigate to "Settings" → "API keys".

3. Enable 2FA

To create an API key, go to the "Security" page and enable 2FA verification.

Attention
Without additional security verification, the Crypto.com exchange will not allow you to proceed with creating API keys.

4. Create an API key

In the "API keys" tab, click the [Create a new API key] button.

5. Label your API key

Give your API key any name, so you can easily understand that this key is connected to your Bitsgap account. Next, enter a 2FA code to generate the API key.

6. Match API permissions

Copy your API key and Secret key somewhere safe before adjusting the API permissions.

Then, edit your permissions as in the example below. These permissions will allow us to read your history and current balance and execute trades on your exchange account.

Here is the list of required permissions:

  1. Can Read on (active by default);

  2. Enable Trading on;

  3. IP access restrictions - Unrestricted;

When ready, press [Save].

Log in to your Bitsgap account and go to the My Exchanges page. Click [Add new exchange].

8. Select Crypto.com and enter your API info

In the pop-up window, do the following:

  1. Choose Crypto.com;

  2. Paste your API key;

  3. Paste your Secret key;

  4. Click [Connect].

9. Connection check

If everything is done correctly, you will see Crypto.com added to the list of your connected exchanges with the "Connected" status and the trading balance available on your account.

🔌 How to replace an API key

Go to the "My Exchanges" page, and find your Crypto.com API key. Click [More] (three dots) in the top right corner, then select [Replace API key].

2. Renew the API key

Insert your new API and Secret keys. Proceed by clicking the [Replace] button to update your API key settings.

3. Check the connection status

If everything is done correctly, you will see Crypto.com added to the list of your connected exchanges with the "Connected" status and the trading balance available on your account.
