Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an additional security measure that can be used to ensure that you are the one who can access your account. This will protect you in case if someone obtains your email and password for Bitsgap account.


In this article, we will show you how to secure your Bitsgap account by adding two-factor authentication for the login process. You will find detailed instructions on how to download, set up and use your two-factor authentication app to get access to your account.


Step 1: Download any 2FA application


The best way to start is to download any 2FA application on your mobile phone or desktop. We recommend using Google Authentication which works perfectly for most of the users.

Step 2: Log in to your Bitsgap account


Log in to your Bitsgap account and select Settings from your user's drop-down menu in the upper right corner of your screen.


Step 3: Activate two-factor authentication


Click on the Password and Security tab and click the Enable Two-Factor Authentication button. You will receive a pop up a new window with brief instructions on how to proceed further.


Step 4: Link your 2FA application to Bitsgap


Open the Google Authentication (or any other) application on your mobile phone and select Start Setup.


(1.1) Then click Scan Barcode and aim your phone's camera (via Google Authentication) at the QR code on your screen, and now wait for the app to fill in the necessary fields
(1.2) Alternatively, you can enter key manually from the pop-up menu.
(2) Your phone should now display the digital code generated for your Bitsgap account. Copy 6-digits code in the text field and finish the link by clicking on the Enable button.


Congratulations! Now your account is set up for two-factor authentication!


Extra: Relog to your Bitsgap account


Next time you log in to your Bitsgap account and enter your credentials, you will get a new window where we will ask you to verify your access by entering a 6-digit number from your authentication app.
