In this article, we will show you a step by step instruction on how to successfully create and activate your Cobinhood API Key. If you follow this guide correctly, you will be able to connect your exchange account to Bitsgap.
Note: Bitsgap has no access to your funds, and it belongs to your exchange wallet. We will NOT accept any API Key with withdrawal permission enabled.
Step 1: Log in to your Cobinhood account and navigate to API Key page
Log in to your Cobinhood account at https://cobinhood.com/, and select "API Key" from the drop-down menu in the upper right, and proceed to the next step. Please be aware that some steps might be changed over time, so carefully follow instructions provided by an exchange. It may require you to set 2FA in advance, or unlock this option via email.
Step 2: Configure permissions and confirm API key generation
It is necessary to have a correct API key configuration before you try to connect it to your Bitsgap account. Please make sure that your permissions allow to Read and Write permissions for Trading, and Read your Ledger information, as shown below.
Important: Wallet withdraw permission should be DISABLED. Otherwise, for security reasons, we will not connect it to your Bitsgap account.
When you are ready, scroll down to the bottom and assign any label name you want. Agree to terms and conditions for Cobinhood API Keys and click the "Generate" button.
Step 3: Receive your Cobinhood API key and add it to Bitsgap
Now your Cobinhood API keys are created and ready to be connected to Bitsgap! Copy them and store somewhere safe for a moment. Log in to your Bitsgap account and proceed to "My Exchanges" page where you need to find Cobinhood and enter your API key in specified field.
